Rather than finished essays or polished announcements, What’s Happening is meant to be a living space—part notebook, part logbook. It’s where I share the ideas I’m exploring, the questions I’m circling, and the progress I’m making on my novels as they evolve.
What You’ll Find Here
- Current ideas – early concepts, themes, and images that are shaping new work
- Progress reports – honest updates on where a project stands, including detours and delays
- Reflections from the process – thoughts that surface while drafting, revising, or getting unstuck
- Occasional excerpts or notes – fragments that may or may not end up in the finished books
This isn’t a press release space, and it isn’t a promise of timelines. Writing rarely moves in straight lines. Some projects advance quickly; others require long stretches of looking out the window, rereading old pages, or throwing things away.
Why Share the Process?
Novels tend to appear as complete objects, but they’re built slowly, invisibly, over time. Sharing pieces of the process helps me stay honest about where I am—and it opens a small window into how these stories take shape.
Think of What’s Happening as a dispatch from mid‑journey: not the destination, not the map, but a note scribbled along the way.
Updates will come when there’s something meaningful to say.
